Guest Author - Amy Romine Is Here Today

Fantastic author Amy Romine is visiting us today. Please welcome her.

Chatting with Amy:

What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing your books?
The most startling was how much I didn’t know. Even after writing for years I have so much growing to do. That is so exciting for me and I am thoroughly enjoying the journey.

Plotter or Pantser? Why?
Both. When I start a new project I am usually starting with an image in my head. The characters and loose plot are built around that. I will then start a very rough outline of the story, beginning to end. Then I start writing.
There are those who work for ages on their outline, documenting each piece before they begin writing. When they d begin they do not stray from the outline.
This doesn’t work for me, because I am such a perfectionist. I would be so focused on the outline I would never actually write and that is where I find my story. Many times I will be writing and find myself in a completely different space than I anticipated. I go with it and see where it takes me. Then I will go back and see how it fits into my initial idea or if the entire idea is going to change because where I have ventured is too juicy to leave behind.

Do you listen to music while writing? If so what?
Yes, music is the strongest muse I have. I have a very eclectic musical catalog. Rock, country, old, new, show tunes, alternative, everything under the sun. They all have one thing in common the emotion of the lyrics, melody, or the voice singing, is fraught with deep intense emotion. I feed off of it and am constantly inspired by it.

What are your favorite TV shows?
Wow, there are so many, I am a TV freak. I write a weekly column for BellaOnline as their Prime Time TV editor (little plug for myself there, sorry habit) Okay we will go with shows that are currently running. Big Bang Theory, Community, Modern Family and Cougar Town are the ones that make me laugh aloud. Law & Order SVU, Grey’s Anatomy and Burn Notice are my must-see’s.

What songs are most played on your iPod?
Right now,
So Close – Enchanted soundtrack
I got Lost - Annie Get your Gun soundtrack

I need you now – Lady Antebellum

So Far- Nickleback
It’s been a While – Staind
How to Save a Life – The Fray
Ever the Same – Matchbox Twenty
The Reason - Hoobastank

What is your favorite meal?
Dinner, my hubby is the chef of the family and he is always making something wonderful for me and the kids. My favorite of his dishes is Chicken and Dumplings, yummy!

Beatles or Monkees? Why?
OMG, first I love that this question is on here, Monkees! Always Monkees, because I can put in the greatest hits, know all of the words and automatically be in a good mood. It is sugary, pop-candy fun!

Lesbian Hot…Gay Not?

I was out the other night with a friend, and we came across a lesbian couple being affectionate a few feet away. My male friend, Matt, commented on how much of a turn on that is for him to see two women making out. I agreed it was very hot. Then he said he was curious about something. He knew that as a man watching two women is an erotic fantasy come true but to see two men making out was a little hard to stomach. Mind you, Matt is not homophobic in any way we have several gay friends. It is the physical side of that coupling bothers him.

He was curious if it is the same for women. Are we turned on by seeing two males making out, and then in turn turned off by two females? I responded that I could only speak for myself as a woman but that both pairings for me are a turn on. The gay portion of that equation just came to be recently, and I had personally wondered what had changed.
He wondered what the difference was as well, and we talked about it a little. Basically, after hours of discussion we came up with the following.
We have found the difference as far as arousal the same as the differences between men and women in regard to sexuality. Using this as a base line, most men regard sexuality as a physical act, unless they make the conscious decision to ‘make love to a woman’, there is no emotion involved in the coupling.
For women, it is the opposite. Sexuality is all about emotion and expression of that emotion. Again, this is not to say that a woman can’t just fuck and be done with it. They can. It is, however, a conscious decision to do so and turn off the emotion.
When it comes to the coupling of same sex relations the hetero-sexual male and female view the couplings in much the same way.
We have in theory established that a man’s view on sexuality is mainly physical, so it stands to reason that men would be excited by a lesbian encounter. The active expression of that union is very feminine, and a male is turned on by females, the more the better, right?
For women, the lesbian encounter is also viewed as physical. What woman doesn’t enjoy a showing of sensual erogenous zone play? So there is a physical response but there is rarely emotion involved in the reaction. Females are not turned on by the expression of emotion shown between the couple, but rather the physical interaction.
Now here is where it gets interesting, and again, I can only speak for myself and my discoveries as a woman. The coupling of two men can be a turn on for a woman because of the emotional reactions. In a gay relationship many times there is not a Male or Female archetype. The interaction of two Males is predominately equal, but more emotional. As a woman, it is a turn on to see that emotion coming from a male. It is a turn on to see a man in a submissive role or being dominated by the passions of another man. Just as a female can be dominated by the passions of a male, for a woman many times the encounter of a gay couple is a turn on because of the dominance factor.
It is for those same reasons that men are usually uncomfortable with gay sexuality. It is the showing of the male belly, or vulnerability, that men are not accustomed. The archetypical Male is not equipped to handle uncontrolled emotions like vulnerability, especially during a sexual encounter, unless they are emotionally attached to the partner. So a gay coupling would hit the wrong nerve. The physicality of it is lost, although logically it should be a catalyst to arousal. Sex between two men and two women are very similar, but the showing of weakness between a gay pairing overrides any physical response a typical male may have.
This is all theory of course and my own humble observations, but I think it makes sense.
Turn-on’s can be a funny thing, as I said earlier in this post, gay couplings used not to entice me in the least. Now it is among my favorites. My view of it changed when I broadened the horizons of my own sexuality. At my day job, we always say the only constant is change. Things change. People change, and opinions change. Thank god I am flexible!

WELCOME EROTIC AUTHOR BLAK RAYNE!

It's my pleasure to introduce friend and awesome author BLAK RAYNE. Please check out her web site links below. You won't be disappointed.

Erotic vs Porn – What Is The Difference?

Take a good look at the picture I’ve added to this article. Do you consider it to be erotic or is it pornographic? What feelings does it invoke? Does it turn you on?
There is really only one answer. A lot of the items within this photo are things we associate with sex. The image is erotic and it’s designed to stimulate the sexual portion of your brain.

Let’s start where we should and that’s at the beginning. According to the experts:

Erotic |iˈrätik| adjective: of, relating to, or tending to arouse sexual desire or excitement.

DERIVATIVES
Erotica |iˈrätikə| noun: literature or art intended to arouse sexual desire.
ORIGIN mid 19th century: from Greek erōtika, neuter plural of erōtikos (see erotic).

Erotically |-ik(ə)lē| adverb
ORIGIN mid 17th century: from French érotique, from Greek erōtikos, from erōs, erōt- ‘sexual love.’

Porn |pôrn| (also porno |ˈpôrnō|) informal noun:
1 pornography.
2 television programs, books, etc., regarded as catering to a voyeuristic or obsessive interest in a specified subject: a thrilling throwback to the golden age of disaster movies—weather porn of the highest order.
adjective: pornographic: a porn video.
ORIGIN 1950s: abbr.

Personally I prefer Wikipedia’s explanation: Pornography is the portrayal of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual excitement and erotic satisfaction.
Okay, so what is the difference? According to the origins: Erotic hints at the sex or sexual content where pornography is blatant. Erotic can also create a state of sexual awareness. For instance erotic can be classified as a few dirty words in a book–a whisper in ones ear, a sensual smile, a light caress of the flesh, his swollen cock brushed my clit. Whatever it is, it’s only supposed to imply (mind you my last example was a tad obvious). It is meant to stimulate those erogenous zones by leaving a little to the imagination. And most erotic material is created via pen and paper. Erotic can be rated from one flame to five flames and Dante’s Inferno! You can get a lot or simply not! Today erotic does at times supply a conclusion but the nice thing is its rated for specific tastes.
Porn is a totally different beast. Porn has a specific conclusion. Yes it stimulates, but it’s bold and in your face. It doesn’t hide or hint. It’s explicit and meant to produce one outcome. It’s meant to bring the voyeur to a climax–whether physical or mental. There is no need for imagination here–what for when there’s bare sweaty flesh moving frantically in front of your eyes? And porn is never rated ‘sweet’ or ‘sensual’ –three flames with a suggestion of romance. Usually it’s rated R to X or triple X–in other words ‘Grab the fire extinguisher Betty, ‘cos I’m gonna blow!’
Where does an erotic author such as myself stand? Well here’s the nice thing about erotic literature, it gives me a license to do whatever the hell I want and the best part, I can give you any flame rating desired! I’ve watched porn and for me the excitement wears off in about oh three seconds. I prefer ‘descriptive video service’! LOL And yes, I want a plot! Porn is for those who don’t give a shit about the story and I hate to say this but own little to no imagination. Porn strictly provides visual stimuli. All right, I know, that wasn’t really fair of me. I guess if you need to see the human anatomy, to verify which body parts are which, so be it. As for me, erotic gets my vote every time!
Remember men are more visual creatures and women prefer less. Is that why more women pen and read erotica? I believe it’s safe to say, yes. I drool when I see a pair of sexy men going at it but I prefer to keep the image within the confines of my mind. There is a difference between erotic and porn, one is psychological and the other is physical. Which one gives you the biggest rush?

A Little Friday Whimsy

Being a devotee of historical research to use in my western romances, I blundered onto a site discussing the history of kissing. I thought I'd share bits and pieces of what I found. You can go to How Stuff Works to read more.

"Kiss," was painted by Francesco Hayez in the 19th century. Kisses were infrequent in Western art work before this time.

"Historians really don't know much about the early history of kissing. Four texts, written in Vedic Sanskrit around 1500 B.C., describe people kissing so it was an act existing at that time. This doesn't mean that nobody kissed before then, and it doesn't mean that Indians were the first to kiss. Artists and writers may have just considered kissing too private to depict in art or literature."

"After its first mention in writing, kissing didn't appear much in art or literature for a few hundred years. The Indian epic poem "Mahabharata" describes kissing on the lips as a sign of affection. The "Kama Sutra," also describes a variety of kisses. It was written in the 6th century A.D. Anthropologists who believe that kissing is a learned behavior theorize that the Greeks learned about it when Alexander the Great invaded India in 326 B.C."
"In ancient Rome, couples became betrothed by kissing passionately in front of a group of people. This is probably one reason why modern couples kiss at the end of wedding ceremonies."
Additionally, although most people today think of love letters as "sealed with a kiss," kisses were used to seal legal and business agreements. Ancient Romans also used kissing as part of political campaigns.

Regardless of exactly how people got the idea to kiss or what they mean when they do it, anthropologists are pretty sure that people started kissing thousands of years ago and I'm pretty sure that's why so many romance books have a kiss on their cover.
Thanks for stopping by today. For more research whimsy, visit me at Gem's Place  and sign up for my monthly newsletter here

Thursday 13: I Love You

Here's a fun challenge -- find 13 things that you can do to tell the man in your life that you love him. Below are 13 ideas to get you started.

1. Stay in bed and read the newspaper with him.
2. Have sex every night for two weeks.
3. Using a non-permanent marker, write "I love you" on the underside of the toilet seat.
4. Give him a coupon book with things like "good for one backrub", "help washing the car" or "popcorn and company watching a movie of your choice."
5. Plan a party for him around an event he likes, such as bowling, fishing, baseball, or car races. Invite his friends and don't over-plan it. Give them freedom to enjoy the time together.
6. Pick an item on his honey-do list and do it for him.
7. Enjoy a candle-lit bath together. Use a neutral fragrance or a non-scented soap rather than floral and bubbles.
8. If you have children, arrange for a slumber party for them with a friend's children, then return the favor so each couple gets an adults-only night at home.
9. Make a photo album for him. This is especially effective for online photos. Never cut his old photos - they may have more significance to him than just the picture.
10. If you can spend a little money, order him a custom T-shirt, hat, or jacket from his alma mater.
11. Place lightly scented candles around the bedroom and welcome him home by wearing a smile -- and nothing else.
12. Call him when he's away from the house and tell him what sexy things you're going to do to him when he gets home. Make sure you're not on speakerphone first... unless that's your thing. ;)
13. Try wearing lingerie for him, a skimpy costume like a sexy nurse, or a hot cowgirl. Play to his particular likes.

Keep the romance alive by finding new ways to express your love. Tell him how much you appreciate it when he does something for you. Let him know you think he's the best man in the world. Stare at him from across the room until he catches you looking, and then smile and blow him a kiss. And don't forget the simplest way to say I love you: say it out loud.

Unexpected Changes

Sometimes things don’t always go as you plan. It is what you do when that happens that will define where you go. I’ve been working on a project that is going in unexpected directions. At first I wasn’t so sure if the way it was going was for a good thing or not but I’ve been going with it.

The last few days has reveled to me why the changes were good. Things are flowing better and moving along. Yes those changes were unexpected and for a moment I thought that it wasn’t something that I could go with but I am glad that I stuck it out. Now that I am seeing what is coming I am ready for it and looking forward to it. Unexpected changes can be very good.

Tessa's Pride

It's here! After months of labor, and more months of waiting, Tessa's Pride finally hits the virtual shelves today!

This is one of those books that as I was writing, I almost trashed it on more than one occasion, but Tessa and Josh wouldn't shut up, so I kept writing. I'm glad I did because I really like the way it turned out, thanks in a large part to my editor at Carina Press, Kym.

Here's the blurb: Two years after leaving home to make his own fortune, Joshua Bradley has finally returned to the Bradley Equine Ranch—and to Tessa McCade, the sexy ranch manager with whom he shared a single steamy tryst.

Tessa now owns the ranch like she’s always dreamed—but it’s in trouble. Dozens of horses have been lost and she’s on the brink of bankruptcy. To save his family’s business, Josh offers to buy it from her…and share the ranch house with her once again.

Tessa chafes at needing Josh’s help, but she’s never forgotten the taste of pleasure Josh gave her so long ago. Soon, neither of them can resist the desire mounting between them, and unleash a passion that is even more powerful than Tessa’s pride…

How about a sexy excerpt?

She spun toward him again and threw the pitchfork into an empty stall. It hit the wall with a satisfying clatter, making the horses dance and whinny in fright, but he stood like a statue, apparently expecting her show of temper. In fact, the cocky glint in his eye proved he enjoyed it. She stomped over to him. “Why?” She curled her hands into fists; her fingernails dug into her palms. It was either that or pull his hair out in clumps.

He leaned on the handle of his pitchfork. “Why what?” His shit-eating grin infuriated her. He was damn lucky she’d tossed her weapon.

“Why would you sneak around and go over my head like that, knowing I’m selling the ranch to you? Is this your way of taunting me? Why didn’t you wait until I was gone?”

“I’m not taunting you, Tess, and I didn’t go over your head. The offer is there. It’s up to you whether you take it. I’m helping you.”

“I don’t want your help.”

“Maybe not, but you need it.”

“Not if you can do it yourself. You knew I wanted that sperm. Now I’ll have to watch that little dream come true and then leave BER. I can’t do it. I want out.”

His grin widened, and her arms shook with restraint. “Show me the P and L. Then I’ll buy.”

“Save your money. You’ve proved you don’t need me here. Buy BER for market value. I just want out.”

“Nope.” His eyes twinkled. “I don’t want to buy a market-value ranch. I want a top-of-the-line operation.”

“Why, so you can throw it away like everything else Daddy gave you?”

As soon as the words left her tongue, she wanted to bite them back, but it did wipe that grin off his face. She looked away as quickly as she could and took a step back to storm out the door.

His pitchfork fell to the ground a second before he grabbed her shoulders. “Is that what you think? That I left here because I’m a spoiled little rich boy?” He yanked her against him, and she held on to his coat for stability.

“I…I don’t know.” Why hadn’t she kept her mouth shut?

“You seemed pretty sure of yourself a second ago. Didn’t you ever wonder why I left that day? Hours after I touched you, tasted you?” His breath washed across her cold cheeks.

“No,” she lied.

“First insults and now lies. I can think of better uses for that mouth.”

She parted her lips to protest, but she barely had time to inhale before his mouth came down on hers with a punishing force. Tessa whimpered, but she couldn’t fault him for the brutality. He wasn’t restraining her. Instead she melted in his arms. What was it about this man that defused her anger with a simple touch?

His lips were cool, but his tongue was warm as it toured her mouth, exploring every crevice. Her traitorous body responding to his. She reached up to his neck, gripped his scalp and secured his lips against hers, sending his hat tumbling into the straw at their feet.

Eventually she’d recall this moment in the solitude of her bedroom, and she’d probably regret it. For now she wanted to enjoy everything he had to give. She latched on to his tongue like a hungry newborn kitten to a teat.

“I love it,” he murmured, moving away from her mouth only to nibble a trail along her jaw. “You taste amazing. Even when you’re pissing me off.”

Tessa should have been paying attention to his words. She should be even angrier he would take advantage of their obvious desire for each other in order to distract her from her tirade.

Later.

You can find more information about Tessa's Pride on my website, along with buy links, a free prequel download and excerpts.

Thanks for celebrating release day with me!

Keta's Keep Romance Blog

Blurb:
Penniless when she arrives in Norfolk, her mother and father drowned at sea, Raine Brinsley longs to return home to her grandfather in Maine. When Derek Stafford, owner of a large plantation, offers a solution to her dilemma, she’s stunned, if not outraged. She’d prefer to fulfill the contract to have his child and forget about him and his self-serving scheme. If only she could dispel the deep-seated passion he’s awakened in her.

Derek’s one true desire is to father an heir to Stafford House, thereby securing his future. He didn’t count on the Scottish lass with green eyes interfering with his well-laid plan. After one night in her arms, guilt, not to mention the loss of his soul, became his penance. He’ll do anything to win her back, anything to quench the hunger tormenting him.

Setup: Raine has decided to accept Derek's contract to bear his child. But sinister sources are at work at Stafford House. The spirit of Derek's late wife roams the halls crying out for revenge. And Raine is the only one the ghost trusts.

EXCERPT:
Derek's deadline had come and gone, and she had yet to reach a decision. The practicality of his offer loomed, yet a little voice screamed inside her head she should flee from this man and his immoral plot. She told herself a thousand times she couldn't accept his offer, should tell him exactly what he could do with his lust for financial security. If she wasn't so terribly alone in Norfolk, she would.
The money he'd placed in the envelope all but spoke to her. She'd counted it a dozen times. An equal amount awaited her upon completion of the contract. A lot of money. An enormous amount. She embarked on a fantasy about her future. The funds would allow her to seek the medical care Grandfather might need in the near future, and it would certainly secure her passage to Camden. A thousand times over. She'd be able to purchase a fine home where she could care for Grandfather in comfort. Whatever they needed or fancied would be at their disposal.
On the other hand, what she knew about raising children, she could fit into a thimble.
What would it feel like to surrender a child she'd brought into the world? The answer to that question eluded her. If she accepted his offer, she simply couldn't form an attachment to the babe, either before birth or immediately after. Although vastly ill-equipped to deal with the lying-in period, the issue seemed to be the least of her worries in the scope of things. She could accomplish anything if she applied herself.
The three nights she must spend in his bedchamber ranked high on her list of dilemmas.
It had been delineated right and proper in the Accession--that's what her grandfather would call it--the Scottish word for contract. She bristled every time she read it. If she lost the child or delivered a stillborn, she'd be allowed the proper time to restore her health before fulfilling the entire terms of the contract. If she wanted to receive the remaining five thousand, that is.
On the contrary, if she chose to forgo a second series of rendezvous with the lord of the manor, she could, with initial down payment in hand, be on her way. She shook her head.
Whether she delivered the goods or not, she would be paid for her services. Loathsome. Abhorrent. Any way she sliced the pie, he had reduced her to a whore.
Visions of sharing his bed surfaced. An avid reader and well-schooled about amorous escapades, she imagined any man that had to pay a woman for coitus was a bumbling, incompetent lover. The thought delighted her. How she'd love to toss that in his face!
The last appendage of the agreement stated she'd surrender all rights to the child's care from birth through all eternity. Further, she'd take the first ship out of the harbor within four weeks of the delivering the babe, sooner, if the physician deemed her fit for travel, never to return to Norfolk or Stafford House again. Finally, Horace Masterson, Esquire, Norfolk, Virginia, and Derek Stafford of Stafford House, the same city, had signed their names.
She'd come to a decision. The wise words of her grandfather rang in her ears, 'There be no one in life, lass, other than yourself, to watch over ye. Ye must been on the alert for scoundrels and rogues. Stay one step ahead of the miscreants. She'd stay one step ahead of Derek Stafford all right, do his bidding, but his day of reckoning would come.
With a sigh, she rose from the chair and walked to the bureau to wash her face. Her chest burned and her hands felt colder than stone. She saw the Bible next to the porcelain basin. Not just any Bible, but the one she'd placed in the trunk. Lucinda's Bible! Tremors coursed through her. She glanced at the passage marked with a red check in the margin. Psalm, 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
The icy air cracked with tension. How did Lucinda's Bible suddenly appear in her room?
She hugged her cold body. Eerily still, the room loomed silent. Not even the ormolu clock on the night table ticked. When had it stopped? She crossed the room, tapped it and breathed a sigh of relief. Tick tock. Tick tock. She hadn't heard anyone enter her room, had she been so lost in thought she failed to hear someone place the Bible on the table?
On the bed, a woman appeared, a translucent, pale form with her hands folded across her chest, her bosom heaving with labored breaths. Surely an apparition. She blinked in an effort to focus. The chill fled from the room, vanished on the whisper of a breath. The woman had fled too, leaving her Bible behind.
Grandfather had warned her about spirits, desperate souls who remained behind with unfinished business or to warn the living that evil lurked in their midst. She sensed the spirit wouldn't harm her, but her abrupt appearances unnerved her. The poor creature would leave after her business was concluded, her mission accomplished. But what was the specter's mission?
The thud of horse's hooves on the ground outside drew her to the window. Derek. His perfectly sculpted body rode low and clung to the horse's mane. His dark hair blew in the in the wind behind him as he rode from the property at a fast clip. A relieved sigh left her lips. She'd been granted a reprieve and wouldn't have to gaze upon that wickedly handsome face. Not until tonight. With a sick knot in her stomach she wondered which topic she should broach first, the ghost that haunted her bedroom or the contract, both equally frightening.

Goddess Revenge Against Her Lover

Happy Late Saturday, everyone.

This X-poem is about my goddess heroine in a novella [not pubbed] that I wrote about eleven years ago, titled ~ Goddess from the Dark Side of the Moon ~ the hero betrayed the heroine by pretending to be another man. Not knowing he was the god she refused as her lover, she fell in love with him as the man he pretended to be while on an Earth mission.

Silvery translucence
she slid down his cheek
as one drop of rain.
To torment him further
she rained herself
upon his dark golden hair.
To torture his need for her
she sluiced her goddess essence
over his Apollo-handsome physique
caressing every bold muscle,
every masculine plane of him
until he raised his face
to Earth’s gray pearl sky
and silently shouted her name.
She bathed him in her
beauteous Venus nature
until he clenched his eyelids
and begged for her.
She showered him with her desires
until he groaned like Mt. Vesuvius.
Until he screamed through the cosmos
pleading for her favor.
His human body strained,
a statue of blazing marble for her.
Only her.
Taking her woman’s revenge
she whirled as sheets of rain around
his naked body, shuddering him.
She saturated him with her
erotic dreams of him.
Only him.
Slowly, she slid her watery being,
her silvered transparency
down his taut agonized groin
and spun up his pillar-standing phallus.
Wickedly, she drove him to the brink
of ecstasy, then flowed from him,
denying him, leaving him to feel
the lava blazes of Hades,
as if the Lord of the Underworld
consumed his flesh to punish his
lover’s misdeeds, his betrayal of her.
Satisfied, still she cried her own tears
as splashing drops of rain
upon the thirsty Earth.
Transforming to ethereal goddess
above him, she whispered his name.
He opened his dark-as-midnight eyes
and she vanished from him
like wisps of fairy mist
before the gold-soft brilliance
of the morning’s risen sun.

Flirty Friday - Worst Pick-Up Lines

Guys who use corny pick-up lines are usually not the brightest light bulbs in the chandelier, and unless you want every girl you pick up to think you're a moron, don't use these lines. Yes, they're sometimes funny and they are usually clever, but they won't get you anywhere.

1. Was your father a thief? 'Cause someone stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes.

2. Can I borrow a quarter? ["What for?"] I want to call my mom and tell her I just met the woman of my dreams.

3. Damn, if being sexy was a crime, you'd be guilty as charged!

4. Do you have a map? Because I just keep getting lost in your eyes!

5. Somebody better call God, cuz heaven's missing an angel!

6. Excuse me; can you empty your pockets? I believe you have stolen my heart.

7. Are you religious? Cause you are the answers to all my prayers.

8. My love for you is like the universe... never-ending!

9. I must be a snowflake, 'cuz I've fallen for you.

10. When God made you, he was showing off.

11. Hi, I'm Mr. Right. Someone said you were looking for me.

What have been some of the worst pick up lines you've ever heard?

Thursday Thirteen - 13 Tips for the Best Sex

Has your sex life hit a road bump and just limping along? Between kids, work and the stress of everyday life can turn great sex into a fantasy. Here are just a few little booster to get back in gear and on the road to Hot Romance.

1. Create a sexy space. Make your bedroom feel like a place for romance not an office or nursery.
2. Use a form of birth control you are confident with.

3. Talk to your doctor about the medications you may be taking. Some prescription drugs can dull your sex drive.

4. Make time in your schedule for sleep. When you're tired, you'd rather sleep than have sex.

5. Remind yourself that you deserve to have fabulous sex. So what if you haven't dropped that baby weight, or that certain body parts aren't as perky... your partner isn't worried about little imperfections.

6. Make a date. Hey... you plan when you run errands so why not plan a special time with that special someone?

7. Get connected. Start sexting your partner or send some yummy photos of yourself. Leave love notes under the pillow or in a briefcase. Little racy vibes you give can lead to titillating anticipation.

8. Get fit. I'm not talking working out, but maybe some yoga or Pilates or something as simple as Kegels. This type of fitness will strengthen your pelvic floor muscles thus giving you more feeling and control.

9. Don't let physical conditions impact your sex life. If you have heart disease, high blood pressure or diabetes, work with your doctor on concerns you might have so you may have a healthy relationship.

10. Improve your libido Eat more fish such as salmon or lake trout or start taking supplements. Fish oil boosts the testosterone in your body for a quicker arousal. Check with your local health food store for other libido improving suppliments.

11. Sex shouldn't be painful. Many women have the issue of dryness. There are many lubricants available on the market right now so experiment what works. The right one can really help! Try different positions as well.

12. Remember: Porn positions are for the pros. Your man is turned on by YOU. Tell him what you like. Don't be bossy, be sensual by taking his hand and leading him down the path. Show him where and how you like to be touched.

13. Get a little adventurous. You don't have to get all crazy but start out slow. Visit a local shop for lovers. Pick up a simple game. Think seriously about things such as lotions, blindfolds, hand cuffs, feathers. and vibrators. When you pick items out together, you'll laugh, open up to each other more, and enjoy some out of this world sex!
